Samantha began her dance training at Conyers School of Ballet, and then went on to dance under the direction of Laurie Marshall and Jennifer Andrews-Smith right here in Covington at A Time to Dance. Growing up ballet was her main focus but she also took many years of tap & jazz. As an adult Samantha continues to take open ballet classes on a regular basis to keep her knowledge growing. Samantha is also trained in circus trapeze under the direction of Susan Carson at Canopy Studios as well. She currently teaches step aerobics and pilates at our local YMCA. She resides in Griffin her husband Chris and their beautiful dancin' daughter Selah.
Ashlyn began cheering at at the early age of six! She continued her cheer and tumble career all throughout high school participating in both competitive and spirit cheerleading. She is currently attending Georgia State University to peruse her lifelong dream to be an early childhood teacher.
Her biggest passion is educating the youth and helping kids become the best they can be. She loves to see kids light up for accomplishing something they have worked so hard for. She is a USAG Member, USAG Safety Certified, CPR/First Aid Certified and is USAG Certified to instruct Pre school & School Age Gymnastics/Tumbling.
She enjoys helping others to the best of her ability, decorating, traveling, being at the beach, and of course spending time with family and friends.
Amanda comes to us from Rhode Island! She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Dance Major from Dean College. Amanda's dance education includes Ballet, Modern, Tap, Hip-Hop & Jazz! She has danced with many of the greats and has had the honor of traveling and doing what she loves! Amanda has danced all her life, winning top awards across the dance competition industry! She has such a passion for teaching an educating our youth and is excited to ground herself right here in Georgia. Outside of being on staff at Kidz In Step she teaches master classes/ dance intensives for other studios all over the U.S.
Laura began her dance training at Studio D under the direction of Mitch Flanders. She has also trained at The Studio, Joffrey Ballet, Broadway Dance Center, Steps, Islands Dance Academy and Atlanta Ballet. Laura was company member of The Griffin Ballet Theater for 12 years. While there, Laura had the privilege of dancing in classical works such as Cinderella, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Firebird, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Giselle, Le Corsaire and Paquita. She was also featured in the premiere of new works such as S.S. Liberty, Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Dreams, and Midnight. Laura had the opportunity of performing in Aladdin and Lion King with Columbia City Ballet. Recently Laura has been a guest artist for Savannah Ballet Theatre. She has trained and continues her dance training studying under renowned teachers such as, Harmony Clair, Carol Szkutek, Armando Luna, Joulia Moisseeva, Matthew Powell, Natalya Stavro, marqyerite Wesley, Pamela Pribisco, katy O'Toole, Marinia Lavashva, Magdalena Maury, Satephanie Godino, Kathy Thibodeaux, and Emily Yewell Volin.
Laura’s teaching career started at Studio D where she taught for several years. As well as being on staff at Kidz In Step Laura teaching at Ozier's Studio of Dance. Over the last 5 years Laura has also been guest teaching at various studios in the Atlanta area.
Kidz In Step has the right to change instructors for classes at any given time for any given reason!
Meet Our AMAZING Instructors
Brooke grew up in Conyers,GA and currently resides in Covington,GA with her husband and two children. She began dancing at the age of 12 on the Edwards Middle School dance team. Brooke also took studio class in tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical at Dominy School of The Performing Arts. She then joined a competition dance team under the instruction of Jennifer Andrews-Smith.
At the age of 16 Brooke started co-teaching with Jennifer during her opening year at Kidz in Step back in 2004. The following year she taught tap, jazz, and hip hop at Starbound Dance Company in Conyers, GA. After graduating from Heritage High School in 2006 she moved to Carrollton, GA to attend the University of West Georgia and major in Sports Management. While living in Carrollton Brooke taught tap and ballet at Carrollton Academy of Dance. Once the year ended she moved back to Conyers to work and attend Georgia Perimeter College in Social Circle. There she majored in Health and Physical Education. She is a few credits shy from an associates degree which she is currently in the process of pursuing.
When Brooke isn't teaching she is at home with her two children where they enjoy playing outside, swimming, dancing around the house, and singing. Brooke also enjoys kayaking, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
